About Colleen

Hello, I’m Colleen!

I’m a holistic nutrition and lifestyle coach, as well as an exercise specialist. My journey in health and wellness began over 13 years ago as a personal trainer and athlete. During that time, I witnessed the toxic side of the fitness industry—where unattainable ideals, diet culture, and unhealthy relationships with food are often normalized. While I remain passionate about movement and fitness, I felt called to support others in a more restorative and sustainable way.

After earning my BS in Kinesiology, I worked as a physical therapy technician and exercise physiologist. It was there that I noticed a significant gap in healthcare: the connection between nutrition and both physical and mental wellbeing. I believe food is a powerful tool for healing and that our relationship with it plays a vital role in supporting the body, mind, and spirit. I also value the role that nature and lifestyle play in overall wellness.

My own experience navigating PCOS as well as my fiance’s health issues deepened this perspective and led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. Through this work, I studied the root causes of disease, nutritional biochemistry, metabolic and hormonal health, immunology, supplementation, environmental health impacts, and holistic, mindfulness-based approaches to healing.

From the Sierra Nevadas of Northern California to the hillsides of Haleakalā in Maui and the Topa Topa Mountains in Ojai, I’ve always felt grounded in nature. I created Mountain Thyme Health & Wellness to honor the healing connection between food, lifestyle, and the natural world.

I’m here to support, educate, and empower you as you navigate your unique health journey.

It’s time to step away from diet culture, reconnect with your body, and feel your best—confidently and sustainably.

My Philosophy and Approach

I believe holistic nutrition should be enjoyable, educational, obtainable, and sustainable. Meaning, we should enjoy the foods that heal us, we should learn how these foods support us, we should set obtainable goals, and find sustainable solutions that provide long term wellness outcomes. My approach blends evidence-based nutrition strategies and compassionate, personal insights tailored to your specific needs and goals.

I utilize physical activity, nature, mindfulness-based strategies, and stress management to optimize overall wellbeing and outcomes.

Coaching you along your journey, keeping you accountable, empowering you, and providing continued support is just another facet of this approach.
